Chelsea + Max
"I met Max when I was a sophomore in high school and he was a junior when we served together on the Health and Wellness Committee in Student Council. I walked into the meeting that consisted of Max, myself, and a faculty advisor; I remember feeling shy and flustered when Max and I first locked eyes. Throughout the school year, we'd work together on different events and campaigns, but it wasn't until the end of my sophomore year that we really decided to start a relationship. I remember he was carrying his bass in orchestra class and I had offered to carry his bow for him which was silly because he didn't need help I just wanted to put myself out there. And then it was the end of finals week and I had asked Max if he wanted to get ice cream, but this silly man answered: "yeah I already had two bowls of ice cream." I was trying to ask him out! But eventually, a few hours later I asked him again if he wanted to take a study break because the flavor of the day at Kopp's was Red Raspberry. I was studying next door at Starbucks and then he picked me up I just felt butterflies all over. We sat outside talking for hours and I just knew that I had found "the one". Max has shown me what it means to love wholeheartedly and laugh loudly. He has taught me to live my life without fear and continuously encourages me to dream big dreams and to chase them. In short: he has taught me to be my best self." - Chelsea Y.
